Making a Dandy Choice for your Walls and Lights
January 15th, 2009
Believe it or not, what covers your walls and illuminates your rooms makes a world of difference, and can be basic or they can be ornate. Wall coverings and lighting schemes should be carefully considered and should be stylish, long lasting and difinitely safe for all in your family to use.
There was a time when I used to think that my decor should be all about me, and family members should conform to the rules of use, but trust me, I’ve learnt my lesson the hard way. So let experience be the best teacher, only that it must not be your experience. You can learn from mine. So when deciding on those dandy decor design and pieces, take into consideration who will be using it, make it as practical but please don’t leave out stylishly dandy. Ensure that your choice(s) sits well with your overall style, its effecient and functional.

January 14th, 2009
It’s so good to be back. I was out of it for a while because of some glitches that I think I brought on myself, but I’m really glad to be back, and although the year is 14 days old, I still want to wish you my dear readers Happy 2009.
Now down to beautiful business. Space is something we all have to deal with, and if you are anything like me, it doesn’t matter if the space is large or small, what’s important is what occupies it. Here are some dandy suggestions and pointers that I certainly hope will inspire you and you will find helpful and quite effective.
1. Use one color throughout the room. Different colors creates spatial boundaries, giving the room a smaller appearance, so use one color to create that impression of space.
2. Use light colors. It certainly gives a spatial illusion.
3. Use reflective surfaces, large mirrors, and dandy picks that are dual-purposed. For example, use a mirror that also has lighting fixtures incorporated in it, or towel rails that comes with a soap dish.
4. Talking about light, use smart lights that will cast the focus on a large area, but with a soft touch. Lighting plays a great role.
5. Make sure you don’t leave the wall empty. Whether its a bench that incorporates a shelf for unused toiletries or a shelf that offers a towel rail, don’t make it cramped, but use your walls.
